Worship
Worship is the taproot of our life together. Singing, praising, praying, hearing—we come to know and experience Christ through the steady heartbeat of gathering weekly as the People of God.
SUNDAY WORSHIP AND SUNDAY SCHOOL
Lectio Divina, 9am in room 104 (8:30am in summer)
Lectio Divina is an ancient spiritual practice of reading the scripture meditatively. A cross between Bible study and worship, the group selects one of the scripture lessons to be proclaimed in worship that morning, which is read several times, with periods of silence and sharing to consider how the word in scripture intersects with our lives. Childcare is available for Lectio Divina.
Sunday Worship – 10am in the Meetinghouse
(9:30am in summer—see Calendar for specific details)
Our service is based on the traditional Presbyterian liturgy—freedom within form, with an emphasis on proclaiming God’s word in scripture, in sermon, and through music.
Nursery Care
Nursery care for infants and preschoolers, with wireless pagers, is available in room 103, located off the Fellowship Center during the entirety of the worship service.
Sunday School for Children
Children begin the worship service with their parents—they are integral to our life as a community, and to our worship—and then are dismissed to Sunday School after the Children’s Message. The exception to the rule: Communion Sundays and special worship services, such as Children’s Sabbath, Palm Sunday and Easter. Please click here for more information
Sunday School/Adult Forums – 11:15 in the Lounge
After worship, Adults are welcomed to attend an Adult Education Forum on a variety of topics. Please click here for more information.
OTHER SPECIAL WORSHIP SERVICES
Taize Worship in the Chapel
Join us for occasional worship services in the style of Taize, a Christian community in France founded by Brother Roger. Check our What’s New page for upcoming services.
Services for Healing and Wholeness
Christmas and Easter are often times when people feel the need for healing in the midst of grief, loss or challenging circumstances. These occasional services are for everyone desiring to hear the Good News amidst such challenges, to be with those who wish to be in prayer with them, or for anyone desiring a service of quiet meditation and prayer.
