Holy Week and Easter Events 2010

Sunday, March 21 – WINK service at 5pm - Fellowship Center

Combined with a Service for Healing and Wholeness.
Jesus was the one who healed and reconciled people to God and to others and thus
Lent is a time to think about ourselves and our hurts and our transgressions. We
will pray for healing and wholeness for our world, our country, our community, our
church, ourselves, and for each other.

Passion/Palm Sunday, March 28

9:00 am Scripture Meditation, Room 104
10:00 am Worship
Come worship with us as we celebrate Jesus’ ride into Jerusalem even as we look
forward to Holy Week and the Passion of Christ.

Monday, March 29 – Saturday, April 3

Labyrinth Walk 9 am – 8 pm in the Lounge (come when convenient)

The labyrinth is an ancient symbol that relates to wholeness. It combines the imagery of the circle and the spiral into a meandering but purposeful path. Labyrinths have long been used as meditation and prayer tools. It is a metaphor for life's journey. A labyrinth has only one path. The way in is the way out. It takes about one half hour to walk the labyrinth. Instructions and suggestion for prayer direction while walking the labyrinth will be available in the Lounge.

Thursday, April 1

8:00 pm Maundy Thursday Tenebrae Worship in the Meetinghouse
A service of communion, special music and a dramatic reading of the Passion story. The service ends in darkness and silence.

Friday, April 2

12 Noon Good Friday Community Service in the Meetinghouse
We will invite the whole community into our doors, for a unique experience of the Passion Story through the medium of Jazz and Blues music.

Easter Sunday, April 4

6:15 am Sunrise Service in the Memorial Garden. (Lounge in case of rain)
9:00 am Worship
11:00 am Worship
One Great Hour of Sharing Offering will be received at the two later services.
Easter Sunday Fellowship - 10 am and 12 noon in the Fellowship Center
